Founder & Executive Director
Nijah Simpson
As a wife and mother of four children with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing differences, I understand firsthand the joys, challenges, and unwavering love that come with advocating for children who experience the world differently.
That journey inspired me to create 4C Sensory Center — a place where every child is welcomed, every family feels supported, and every individual has the opportunity to thrive in an inclusive, sensory-friendly environment.
Every child deserves a place where they feel safe, accepted, and celebrated.
Our Story
4C Sensory Center was created because too many families raising children with autism, ADHD, and other developmental differences are navigating life without the support, understanding, and inclusive spaces they deserve.
Our founder, Nijah Simpson, knows this firsthand. As the mother of four children, including children with autism and ADHD, she has experienced the emotional weight of planning everyday activities around sensory needs. Something as simple as attending church, visiting a community event, or going to the grocery store often requires careful preparation — with the constant uncertainty of whether a child will become overwhelmed by bright lights, loud sounds, or crowded environments.
For many families, the challenge is not simply managing sensory needs. It is the fear of being misunderstood. Parents often leave events early, avoid public spaces altogether, or feel isolated because there are few places intentionally designed with their children in mind. 4C Sensory Center exists to change that.
Our vision extends beyond opening a sensory center. We are creating opportunities for children to participate fully in their communities while equipping the adults and organizations around them to better understand and support neurodivergent children. Through sensory-friendly programming, caregiver education, support groups, community workshops, and partnerships with churches, schools, and community organizations, we are working to create environments where families feel welcomed instead of simply accommodated.
